9th Asia Pacific Smoke-free Meeting.
Action on Smoking and Health Foundation (ASH Foundation), supported by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), led a team of network partners to present their work at the 9th Asia Pacific Smoke-free Meeting. "Destination smoke-free: Transforming Tourism Across Asia Pacific," was organized by the Ministry of Health – Vietnam, Vietnam Tobacco Control Fund and the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance. It took place from August 28-29, 2025, in Hue, Vietnam, with more than 160 participants from ASEAN countries.
Professor Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit, Chairman of the ASH Foundation and Vice Chairman of SEATCA, gave a speech thanking Vietnam for hosting the conference.
The following presentations were given by the Thai delegation:
- "Smoke-free Pak Phraek Municipality in Thailand" Presented by Dr. Pramote Unjitsakul, Mayor of Pak Phraek Municipality in Kanchanaburi Province, in collaboration with the Director of the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Culture, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Tourism Business Administration, and the Head of the Law Enforcement Unit in Brunei.
- "Smoke-free City: Khon Kaen" Presented by Mrs.Saiyud Khan Khwar, Chairperson of the Teacher Networking for Smoke-Free Schools, Khon Kaen province., in her capacity as a specialist on the Khon Kaen Provincial Tobacco Products Control Committee.
- "Smoke-free Police Station Project - Healthy officers, Healthy Community, Provincial Police Region 5, Royal Thai Police" Presented by Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthida Smithikrai, Director of the Operations Division 2, Operations Division, Provincial Police Region 5 and Deputy Spokesperson of Provincial Police Region 5.
